In the small town of Charlotte Court House, where the Amish call home, they have continued a tradion of being good farmers. The Amish took over poor soil and enriched it through
their hard work and good sense.
It is not unusual to find the Amish selling their wonderful homegrown vegetables, baked breads, flowers, herbs, and other goods
in the local markets.
I purchase goods from the Amish every time I have the opportunity. From herb plants to homemade bread, their skillful dedication is always
apparent. Just this morning my daughter Teri and I visited The Farmers Market at Forest. We purchased cinnamon raisin buns, blackberry jam and sweet dill pickles from the Amish twin brothers.
Honeysuckle sweet growth on the vine
Blackberries ripen under the sun
Warm summer days transport me back in time
When I was wild, carefree and young
Days swimming in the waterhole, nights catching fireflies
Fresh night breeze, lying under starry skies.
